Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the list only use fractions with powers of two?
Tape measures, rulers, router bits, and drill bit sets use halves, quarters, eighths, 16ths, 32nds, and 64ths of an inch, so those are the fractions this tool compares.
What does the error mean?
The error is the fraction's value minus your decimal. A plus sign means the fraction is larger than your number, and a minus sign means it is smaller.
Does it work with numbers larger than 1?
Yes. Enter a value such as 2.4 and the finder shows a mixed number, such as 2 3/8, along with the nearest fractions.
